PDP official disrupts INEC result announcement, says Jega is partial and has been compromised

The PDP party agent at the Collation center in Abuja, Elder Godsday Orubebe is currently staging a protest at the INEC result collation center alleging that Prof Jega has been compromised. According to him, Professor Jega has been selective, partial and is tribalistic. He said APC had written a letter to INEC concerning an alleged rigging in Rivers state which he immediately sent a committee to investigate the issue but that when PDP wrote protest letters on the elections in Katsina, Kaduna and Jigawa, Jega did not send anyone to attend to their protest.

Orubebe, who is a former Minister of Niger Delta, is now calling for Jega to stop result collation. He sat on stage and refused to allow the result announcement to continue...

The presidential election results for 26 states has so far been announced and right now, APC is still leading with 10,462,670 votes while PDP has 9,953,432 votes. The difference is 509,238 votes.

The election announcement will continue in about 30mins. They are on recess. We still have Sokoto, Borno, Zamfara, Kebbi, Taraba, Benue, Adamawa, Bauchi, Delta and Edo. Fingers crossed!

The presidential election results for 18 states plus the FCT has so far been announced. The APC has 10 states, while PDP has 8 states plus the FCT, Abuja. It's a very tight race.

So far APC is leading with 8,520,436 votes while PDP has 6,488,210 votes.

This is according to her friend, singer Nikki Laoye. There was a report last week that the late singer's grave had been tampered with and her body may have been exhumed and removed from where it was buried so the cemetery could bury someone else there or something like that...can't remember exactly what they wrote, didn't pay much attention to it. Buhari campaign group call for the arrest of Femi Fani-Kayode

Buhari Support Group has called on the law enforcement agents to effect the arrest of Chief Femi Fani-Kayode for saying that PDP had won in 23 states even when INEC had not announced any results. The group at a press conference in Abuja yesterday March 30th said Fani-Kayode through his action breached the electoral law

"We strongly condemn in its entirety, the recent outburst and blatant misinformation of the general public by Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode that the PDP is already leading in 23 states of the federation. This claim is a total breach of the electoral act and is designed to cause the breach of peace. Gen. Mohammadu Buhari had repeatedly emphasised to his supporters to maintain calmness in that face of provocation by the ruling party. This recent utter exhibition of lawlessness enmeshed in the typical character of impunity by PDP is unacceptable. We ask the security agencies to immediately effect the arrest of Mr. Fani-Kayode for breaching relevant sections of the electoral act which forbids any organ outside INEC from officially declaring election results. His arrest for further questioning will be a clear indication that the security agencies are truly unbiased participants in this electoral process as this declaration is also a breach of both the 1st and 2nd Abuja Peace Accord. We call on the international community and observers to note the steps being taken by PDP to cause severe breach of peace and call them to order. EFCC clears the air on fake document ordering probe of APC leaders

EFCC has released a statement saying that the letter which surfaced online today suggesting that President Jonathan had ordered the agency to probe the financial operations of APC leaders, is fake. Statement from the agency below and a picture showing the difference between a real document from the agency and the fake one above..

"The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, wishes to alert the public about a letter supposedly from the office of the Chief of Staff to President Goodluck Jonathan, mandating the Commission to initiate discreet investigation against some prominent political figures in the country.

The commission urges the public to discountenance the said letter as it is forged document, intended to mislead the people.

The features of the letter are markedly different from that on a genuine letter from the office of the Chief of Staff to the president.

As evidence that this is a clear forgery, we reproduce below the fake letter alongside a copy of an authentic letter from the same office.

Lekki Robbery: Statement by Gov. Fashola totally irresponsible - Reuben Abati

 

Presidential Media aide, Reuben Abati has described as totally irresponsible the statement made by Governor of Lagos state Babatunde Fashola that the success of the robbery incident that occurred in Lekki yesterday March 12th was as a result of the drafting of all police formation in the state to protect President Jonathan who was in the state when the robbery incident occurred. Reuben Abati spoke to state house correspondence

"We consider the statement attributed to Governor Fashola as grossly and utterly irresponsible. We expect that a man of his status who is the Governor of a state should speak more responsibly. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever that the entire police formation in a state would be deployed to protect the president of Nigeria. The visit of the President or any part of the country does not necessitate the depletion of the police force active in that particular state or its environment. The President has a defined team that protects him anywhere he goes and again President Jonathan does not need the entire police force to protect him in a state where he is loved by the people and where as we have seen, he enjoys overwhelming support to the leadup of the 2015 presidential election" he said

Oyo state Police command has rescued 78 year old man Chairman of Bond Group of Companies in Oyo state, Chief Adebowale Omotosho, from a kidnappers den in Ajia village in Egbeda Local Governement Area of Oyo state after he was abducted by a kidnapping syndicate led by a woman at his residence in Gaa area of Awe in Oyo state on March 4th.

The gang led by 32 year old Bisi Babatunde who has been on the wanted list of the police in Rivers State and her other gang members-Laide Shittu (28), Ajayi Olaniyi (40), Isiaka Kazeem, Alabi Olufemi, Oladipupo Abayomi and Ayobami Musa (23),  had kidnapped the 78 year old man and demanded a ransom of $1 million from his family who were able pay N10 million to the kidnappers.

"I will not talk about the certificate because that is brainless. Only someone without a brain will say that a person that has enrolled as an officer in the Nigerian army and rose to the ranks of General doesn't have the equivalent of an O'Level certificate" he said.
