Photos: Police rescues 78 year old millionaire from kidnappers den

Oyo state Police command has rescued 78 year old man Chairman of Bond Group of Companies in Oyo state, Chief Adebowale Omotosho, from a kidnappers den in Ajia village in Egbeda Local Governement Area of Oyo state after he was abducted by a kidnapping syndicate led by a woman at his residence in Gaa area of Awe in Oyo state on March 4th.

The gang led by 32 year old Bisi Babatunde who has been on the wanted list of the police in Rivers State and her other gang members-Laide Shittu (28), Ajayi Olaniyi (40), Isiaka Kazeem, Alabi Olufemi, Oladipupo Abayomi and Ayobami Musa (23),  had kidnapped the 78 year old man and demanded a ransom of $1 million from his family who were able pay N10 million to the kidnappers.

Former FCT Minister and Kaduna APC Governorship candidate, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai says only a brainless person will doubt that a man who served as a General in the Nigeria army has no certificate. He said this at the APC Youth Forum in Lagos yesterday March 12th

"I will not talk about the certificate because that is brainless. Only someone without a brain will say that a person that has enrolled as an officer in the Nigerian army and rose to the ranks of General doesn't have the equivalent of an O'Level certificate" he said.

Photos: Kano Pillars players injured after robbers attack their bus

About 5 Kano Pillars players were seriously injured today March 5th after their vehicle was attacked by armed robbers along Abaji-Lokoja road around 1pm this afternoon. The armed robbers opened fire on the bus injuring some of the players. The injured players are; Ubong Ekpai, Gambo Muhammed, Eneji Otekpa, Adamu Murtala, and Reuben Ogbonnaya. A former governor of Kogi State, Prince Abubakar Audu, who is being prosecuted at a Federal Capital Territory High Court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, for his alleged involvement in a contract scam to the tune of eleven billion naira, today threw decorum to the dogs when he ordered his security aide (a police officer) to assault an operative of the EFCC, Haruna Ashade, for daring to take his photograph in court.

Ashade, a member of the EFCC team assigned to cover the proceedings, was carrying out his lawful duties when Audu’s aide descended on him. The sudden realisation that his image might have been captured by the cameraman, incensed Prince Audu.

Nigeria: JAMB Announces New Date For (CBT) Exams (MUST READ)

 

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has now disclosed that the 2015 Unified Tertiary and Matriculation Examinations, UTME, will commence next week March 9, across the country.
It would be recalled previously, in a press released by the Board’s public relations officer, Mr Fabian Benjamin,  that the CBT will be on Wednesday, the 4th of March, 2015.
Mr Fabian Benjamin disclosed to Vanguard yesterday that the examination will now start on the 9th of March nationwide.
“All the logistics for the examination have been put in place and the examination will start on March 9 across the 400 centres in the country.” He said.

He further said that the examination will last for 10 days, adding that it will be rounded off on March 21.
“There are going to be breaks during the days, but the exams are going to run for 10 days,” he concluded.

Shocking: Son Of Ex-Chief Justice Of Nigeria Joins Isis

Reports have emerged that the son of Former chief justice of Nigeria Muhammadu Uwais has gone to the Middle East to join the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (Isis) terrorist group.
According to a report by Naij, the son of the 79-year-old Justice Uwais, who served as the chief justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria from 1995 till 2006, is now an active combatant with Isis.
It was learnt that he left Nigeria for Syria with his immediate family to allegedly enlist and fight alongside the Isis terrorists who presently control large territories in Iraq, Syria and Libya.
Justice Uwais, served as the chairman of the committee that reviewed Nigeria’s electoral laws in 2007, that is after his retirement.
He has been informed about his son’s decision although it cannot yet be ascertained if the son had been involved with Nigeria’s home-bred Islamist terrorist group, Boko Haram.

London Home Office denies Nigerian lesbian asylum request, says she can't be lesbian after having children

Nigerian asylum seeker and award winning gay-rights activist, Aderonke Apata has once again been denied asylum following a position by the UK Home office that she can not be a lesbian after she's been in multiple heterosexual relationships which resulted in the birth of her children. 

46yr old Aderonke, who fled Nigeria to the UK in 2004 after her life was allegedly threatened for being gay, has been in a running battle with the UK Home office for a while now over this.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo says he will not be a part of any plans to constitute an interim government that may be formed after the general elections.
